New US government customer taps Ovzon 3 in 90 MSEK SATCOM order

by Clarence Oxford Los Angeles CA (SPX) Sep 28, 2026 SPX

A U.S. government customer new to Ovzon has placed a 12-month order for the company's satellite communications services, with service set to begin immediately. The order covers Ovzon's integrated SATCOM platform, including capacity on the Ovzon 3 satellite, satellite capacity sourced from third parties, and Ovzon mobile satellite terminals.

The contract is valued at 90 million Swedish kronor (MSEK), or about 9.1 million U.S. dollars. SATCOM services account for 84 MSEK (8.5 MUSD) of that total, while the mobile terminals make up the remaining 6 MSEK (0.6 MUSD).

Ovzon will book 34 MSEK (3.4 MUSD) as order intake in the third quarter of 2026. The balance will be recognized once formal processing of the customer's full funding has been completed.

Chief Executive Per Noren said the award extends the company's presence among U.S. federal agencies. "This order marks a significant new addition to our U.S. customer base and within U.S. federal agencies," he said. He noted that the customer had also selected Ovzon 3 and the company's Orion Service.

Noren tied that selection to the design of Ovzon 3, which carries an On-Board Processor, and to the company's compact mobile terminals. He said the combined system was "designed to provide the resiliency, mobility and flexibility required for critical missions."

Ovzon's proprietary SATCOM platform supports defense, national security and public safety users, including NATO customers. The system is built on a defense-grade architecture that brings satellite capacity, networks, mobile terminals and dedicated operational support together into a single end-to-end service. According to the company, this lets customers move away from fragmented connectivity arrangements toward a resilient satellite communications capability that remains under their own operational control.
